A leading Financial Services Institution is seeking an internal IT Audit Consultant to join their Melbourne team. Your findings and recommendations will provide the strategic insights the Senior Management need to ensure their risk management, control and governance processes are performing in the current and evolving business environment.
Your new role
In this exciting new role, you will :
- Thoroughly consult with various internal departments from key personnel through to department heads and maintain strong relationships.
- Utilise department audit methodologies and professional standards when conducting IT audits, IT project assurance reviews, and integrated audits.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine audit scopes, objectives, and key areas of focus
- Identify, evaluate, and document risks and control deficiencies through audit testing and analysis.
- Prepare exemplary audit findings with logical and actionable recommendations to address identified issues.
- Present audit results and recommendations clearly and effectively to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive audit documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
- Maintain a solid understanding of the external regulatory environment and applicable standards.
- Ensure risk management and compliance with company policies are at the forefront of what you do, escalating any breeches as necessary
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your application, you will need:
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex systems and identify control gaps.
- A future mindset – aware of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation is advantageous.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or professional certifications (e.g., CISA, CISM, CISSP) are highly regarded. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Prior experience in a similar IT auditing role, this can be either internal or external.
- A future mindset – aware of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience utilising governance frameworks, risk management practices, and internal control principles to deliver high-quality IT audits.
