The Integration Business Analyst / Systems Analyst acts as a critical bridge between clinical stakeholders and technical delivery teams, translating healthcare requirements into clear, actionable integration specifications.
The role supports multiple delivery workstreams by eliciting and documenting requirements, performing impact analysis, maintaining system documentation and working closely with developers, architects and healthcare stakeholders to ensure integration solutions are fit for purpose, compliant and clinically safe.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Elicit, analyse and document integration requirements from healthcare service teams, clinical informatics staff and internal technology stakeholders.
- Produce high-quality integration artefacts including:
- Integration and interface specifications
- Data mapping documentation
- Business rules and process flows
- Conduct gap analysis between existing healthcare systems and central platform requirements
- Collaborate with developers and solution architects to ensure requirements are feasible, clearly understood and build‑ready
- Maintain backlog health across integration workstreams, ensuring user stories and acceptance criteria are complete and ready for development
- Support the development of test scenarios and UAT scripts, coordinating validation activities with healthcare service teams
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions with technical, clinical and operational stakeholders
- Maintain system documentation including interface inventories, operational guides and process maps
- Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues and dependencies arising from requirements analysis and onboarding activities.
- Support change and onboarding activities by developing clear guidance and communications for healthcare services during transition and go‑live
- Contribute to continuous improvement of requirements, documentation standards and delivery practices across the program
What you'll need to succeed
Must Haves
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst on healthcare IT, integration or data exchange programs
- Proven ability to bridge clinical and technical domains, translating healthcare workflows and requirements into technical integration documentation
- Strong experience producing integration artefacts such as interface specifications, data mappings and process flows
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across technical, clinical and operational audiences
- Prior experience working within Victorian public health, healthcare networks or state‑level government environments
NICE TO HAVE
- Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 v2, CDA or FHIR
- Familiarity with EMR, PAS or other clinical information systems used in Victorian healthcare settings
- CBAP or equivalent business analysis certification
- Experience supporting healthcare service onboarding, system integration, data migration or statewide platform programs
- Awareness of healthcare data governance and regulatory requirements relevant to Australian health environments
