An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Insurance Officer to join the Synod Office team in Adelaide’s CBD on a part-time basis (0.6 FTE).
Your new role
Reporting to the Manager, Insurance & Risk, you will play a key role in facilitating the Church’s insurance program. You will work closely with the Synod, Congregations, and the Church’s Insurance Broker to provide advice and support on insurance and risk matters.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing insurance claims and changes to cover for congregations and associated
entities.
Providing timely and accurate advice on insurance and insurable risks.
Supporting the annual insurance renewal process, including data collection and
policy administration.
Developing and maintaining insurance-related procedures, systems, and resources.
Ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting, including claims statistics and
budget tracking.
Liaising with internal stakeholders and external providers to ensure a high standard
of service delivery.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience in commercial underwriting, claims, or a broker environment.
Strong knowledge of insurance industry practices, including property and casualty
insurance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused
approach.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work
independently and as part of a team.
A commitment to the ethos and values of the Uniting Church.
Desirable qualifications include tertiary or ANZIIF credentials in insurance or a related
field.
