Contract role in Brisbane for an ICT Workplace Services Domain Architect

Hays Technology has partnered with our key enterprise client in Brisbane to appoint an ICT Workplace Services Domain Architect to a newly created contract role on an initial contract up to 2 years with the possibility of extension. This role will support the ongoing modernisation and growth of the organisation's Workplace Services.

Your new role

As the Domain Architect, you will be responsible for designing, governing, and evolving all aspects of the technology architecture supporting the workplace environment. This includes collaboration tools, end-user devices, productivity software, and associated infrastructure. Through close partnership with business stakeholders and technical teams, the Domain Architect ensures that the workplace services strategy and solutions are modern, secure, cost-effective, and aligned with broader enterprise architecture principles.

Some of your day to day will include:
  • Developing a clear multi-year roadmap
  • Define and drive the modernisation of legacy workplace technologies, including migration to cloud-based productivity suites, virtual desktop infrastructure, or next-generation endpoint management solutions.
  • Establish best practices and governance frameworks
  • Solution selection and integration - collaboration tools, security suites, endpoint management platforms
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to technical teams on all of the above
  • Risk and change management

What you'll need to succeed

  • Expert knowledge of EUC environments - Windows, macOS, mobile platforms

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and or Google Workspace and supporting infrastructure

  • Strong ability to design and govern architectural solutions that support workplace services - endpoint management, collaboration tools, unified communications and familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and best practices.

  • Experience designing or implementing cloud-based workplace solutions - Desktop-as-a-Service, Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Endpoint Manager

  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, tools and regulations - ISO 27001

  • Familiarity with agile methods, project management frameworks, and best practices for implementing large-scale workplace technology changes.
