HVAC Refrigeration Technician

Our client, a successful Northern Territory company specialising in sustainable farming, is recruiting a skilled and experienced HVAC Refrigeration Technician to join their team and support critical infrastructure for their operations.


Your new role

As a HVAC Refrigeration Technician, you will play a key role for the organisation by being responsible for maintaining and repairing refrigeration systems, particularly those involved in ice production for storage. This is a full-time Permanent role based in the Darwin region.

Your main responsibilities will be to:
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on ice production systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in refrigeration units, pumps, and air conditioning systems.
  • Assist with mechanical repairs on conveyor systems.
  • Monitor and maintain scheduled servicing of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations related to refrigerants and equipment handling.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with site operations to minimise downtime and optimise system efficiency.


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent Trade qualification (essential).
  • ARCtick Refrigerant Handling License (essential).
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the Commercial, Industrial or Healthcare refrigeration industry in Australia.
  • Previous experience using industrial control systems (Honeywell, Sage, Scada).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, especially with pumps and conveyor systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work in remote / regional locations and respond to on-call maintenance needs.
