Opportunity to lead and shape the HR and People function in a growing design business
Your new company Join an innovative privately-held design and construction business with just over 100 employees across Australia and Singapore. The company delivers a mix of commercial, architectural and fit-out projects, combining design and delivery under one roof. As they bring HR back in-house, they’re looking for a proactive and aspirational Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to lead the function and support their next phase of growth. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the HR function from the ground up in a high-performing business that values collaboration, people connections and continuous improvement.
Your new role Reporting to both the COO and CCO, and working closely with key stakeholders across the business, you’ll be the go-to for all things people and culture. This is a hands-on, broad generalist role with a strategic edge, including:
- Performance and development reviews - Recruitment and workforce planning - HR systems and compliance (ELMO) - Payroll coordination (with external support initially, and a view to bringing in-house) - Coaching and capability building - Workers’ compensation and WHS support - Engagement and cultural initiatives
The role is full-time and based in the Sydney CBD. Some interstate travel will be required to build relationships across offices.
What you'll need to succeed - Around 5–6 years’ experience in a generalist HR role - Confident partnering with senior stakeholders - Experience across recruitment, systems, and compliance - Strong communication and organisational skills - A proactive, agile mindset and desire to step into a Head of HR role in the next 18–24 months - Experience in design, construction, or similar industries - Familiarity with ELMO or similar HRIS platforms
