Lead in establishing and driving the strategic direction to position the Company as an influential participant in the renewable energy market, with specific focus on project development and delivery.
Responsible for the full range of development activities from project identification, securing land options and relevant development approvals, including transmission connection through to the commencement of construction for renewable energy projects.
Lead in developing long-term relationships and strategic alliances with individuals and organisations in the renewable energy sector across Australia.
Contribute to the development and implementation of short-term and long-term business growth strategies.
Identify, assess and progress project opportunities.
Develop renewable energy and energy transition projects consistent with the Company’s goals and objectives.
Generate new national opportunities by expanding on existing operations and initiating new projects in the wind, solar and battery storage sector capitalising on new/existing networks and relationships.
Lead discussions around securing land tenures, obtaining development approvals, community collaboration and stakeholder management associated with project development
Manage regulatory feasibility assessment and approvals.
Accountable for bid preparation and contract negotiation.
Demonstrate strong business acumen in negotiating contractual agreements, demonstrating effective influencing, negotiation, and communication skills.
Collaborate with the Head of Commercial to negotiate large major project contracts with a lead role in OEM and development contracts
Negotiate and secure property agreements with landowners to provide appropriate rights to develop, construct and operate renewable energy facilities.
Ensure the highest standards of technical and project delivery in relation to costs, risks and economics of the renewable energy sectors.
Co-ordinate the technical aspects of the due diligence process, reviewing early stage opportunities and assessing project viability.
Utilise technical knowledge and expertise to deliver complex solutions to Senior Management / Board.
Extensive project development experience. Renewable energy project development highly advantageous.
Experience with the Australian energy regulations and knowledge of the electricity market advantageous.
Knowledge and experience of achieving of financial close of medium to large scale projects.
Knowledge and experience of securing OEM, Transmission connect and project negotiation.
Strong commercial acumen, with good contract management and problem-solving skills.
Analytical / quantitative skills with experience in project valuation and financial analysis.
Strategic thinking, prioritisation skills and ability to plan, execute and deliver a project.
Excellent persuasion skills, a good networker and negotiator.
Ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
Technical / commercial background required. MBA highly advantageous.
