Your new company

Our client is a leading supplier of food processing solutions into the FMCG Manufacturing industry, who source fresh produce both globally and from local farmers. They are known for their commitment to quality, innovation, and operational excellence.

The company is currently looking for a Head of Procurement to lead their team of procurement professionals, working with leadership teams here and at the head office to procure the best raw produce for the best price, enabling the commercial team to drive business growth in existing and new markets.

Your new role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end procurement function, ensuring timely and compliant sourcing of raw materials, packaging, and services. This role requires strong supplier management, cross-functional collaboration, and a proactive approach to risk mitigation and process improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the organisation's purchasing activities, including purchase orders, supplier communications, and delivery tracking to ensure procurement is aligned with production schedules and inventory levels to ensure continuity.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Production, Quality, and Finance teams to forecast material needs and maintain accurate procurement records for audit readiness and reporting.
  • Support supplier performance reviews using KPIs such as delivery, quality, and cost and prepare reports on procurement spend, supplier performance, and savings initiatives.
  • Participate in supplier selection, tendering, and negotiation processes while also ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and food safety requirements.
  • Lead and develop a small procurement team, ensuring clear task coverage and capability growth whilst also identifying and implementing process improvements and supporting ERP upgrades (e.g. SAP).

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven leadership experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally in manufacturing or food industry.
  • Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of procurement compliance, supplier management, and inventory control.
  • Experience with ERP systems with a strong preference for working knowledge of SAP
  • Proven ability to lead or mentor team members, with excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills

What you'll get in return

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global organisation with both a strong local and global presence. You’ll be part of a collaborative team environment, with the autonomy to lead procurement operations and contribute to strategic improvements. You will get to travel the world and meet suppliers with the global procurement function, and around Australia with local producers.
