This role sits within a large, highly regulated government organisation responsible for national governance, enterprise-wide corporate services and operational support. The Facilities, Property and Physical Security function provides strategic leadership across the organisation’s national footprint, ensuring safe, compliant and future-ready workplaces that support organisational resilience and performance.

Your new role

As Head of Facilities, Property & Physical Security, you will lead the organisation’s national property, facilities and physical security portfolio. This is a senior leadership role responsible for setting long-term property and accommodation strategy, overseeing multi-site operations, managing significant vendor arrangements and delivering high-level advice to senior executives.
You will provide strategic direction across workplace operations, asset management, capital investment and physical security, while uplifting governance, risk and compliance frameworks. Leading a multidisciplinary national team, you will drive service excellence, capability development and continuous improvement across a complex and distributed environment.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will bring extensive senior leadership experience within complex property or facilities environments, ideally within the public sector. You will demonstrate:
  • 10+ years’ experience leading large or complex property, facilities or corporate real estate portfolios
  • Strong capability in property strategy, asset lifecycle management, capital works governance and workplace transformation
  • Deep understanding of public-sector procurement frameworks, WHS legislation and governance requirements
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and provide strategic, enterprise-level advice
  • Experience managing multi-site operational teams and high-value vendor and Whole-of-Government contracts
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills
  • The ability to operate confidently in complex, highly regulated and ambiguous environments
