A well‑established aged care provider is seeking an experienced Maintenance Handy Person to support one of their facilities located in Hornsby on a contract basis. This role plays a key part in ensuring the safety, comfort, and presentation of the facility for residents, staff, and visitors.

Your new role

As the Maintenance Handy Person, you will be responsible for carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance across the aged care facility, ensuring the site remains safe, functional, and well presented at all times.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
General building and maintenance repairs
Basic carpentry repairs and adjustments
Minor plumbing repairs (non‑licensed works only)
Replacing lamps, light fittings, and fixtures
Painting, patching, and minor finishing works
General site upkeep and defect rectification
Conducting routine preventative maintenance checks
Liaising professionally with on‑site staff and contractors
Completing basic maintenance reporting as required
This is a hands‑on, site‑based role well suited to someone who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining a safe environment within aged care.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in all‑round maintenance or handyperson roles
Experience working within aged care, healthcare, or commercial facilities (highly regarded)
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Good communication skills and a respectful approach
Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks
Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting
A clear criminal history (essential for aged care environments)
