Governance and Reporting Advisor/ Manager - 8 month contract- Government Organisation

An exceptional opportunity for contract until May 2026 has arisen for Governance & Reporting Senior Advisor / Program Manager to lead strategic program governance across a high-profile infrastructure and transformation portfolio. This role will oversee governance frameworks, reporting standards, and financial and commercial oversight across multiple programs in Western Sydney and Canberra, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and delivery excellence.

Your new role

Your responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and refinement of program governance frameworks, reporting schedules, and risk management practices
  • Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and benefit realisation across the program lifecycle
  • Coordinate executive dashboards and BI reporting to support strategic decision-making
  • Build and lead a high-performing matrixed team of specialists across multiple disciplines
  • Collaborate with Finance, EPMO, and senior leadership to ensure alignment across investment, budgeting, and delivery
  • Influence and engage stakeholders across executive and senior leadership levels
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

What you'll need to succeed

  • Extensive experience in program governance and enterprise reporting within complex, fast-paced environments
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with a background in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to lead enterprise-wide change, define future-state strategies, and manage matrixed teams
  • Expertise in MSP, Prince2, P3M, or similar frameworks, with flexibility to adapt to organisational methodologies
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills
  • Australian Citizenship and ability to meet compliance and security requirements
