Your new role
As the Coordinator Governance, you will play a pivotal leadership role within the organisation, overseeing the delivery of governance activities that support ethical, transparent, and compliant decision-making across the council.
You will lead a dedicated Governance Team, coordinating the development and implementation of governance frameworks, policies, and systems that align with legislative requirements and organisational values.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing expert advice and support to internal stakeholders on governance matters.
Managing Council committees, including secretariat functions and resources.
Overseeing the development of the Annual Report and other statutory reporting.
Ensuring robust systems are in place for public interest disclosures and code of conduct compliance.
Promoting ethical standards and professional behaviour across the organisation.
Coordinating delegated authorities and guiding staff on report and document creation.
Supporting the conduct of local government elections and monitoring ward boundaries.
Leading governance-related projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a 6-month contract position, offering a salary of \$115,000–\$133,000 + Super, depending on experience.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
Demonstrated experience in governance and people management.
Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant professional experience.
Strong understanding of governance frameworks, ethical standards, and legislative compliance.
Advanced communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage projects, lead teams, and drive business improvements.

A competitive salary in the range of $119,426.05 – $133,757.26 per annum (pro-rata for 6 months).
