We are seeking a skilled General Ledger & Chart of Accounts Officer to join a finance team supporting core accounting, reporting, and period‑end functions. This role is ideal for a hands‑on finance professional with strong technical knowledge of general ledger operations, debit and credit principles, and financial reporting within a structured environment.. You will contribute to the integrity of financial data, support end‑of‑financial‑year processes, and work closely with internal stakeholders across a large, complex organisation. Oracle Financials experience is highly regarded, with training available for the right candidate.
Your new role
Provide operational support across the General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Chart of Accounts
Process journals, accruals, allocations, and account adjustments
Perform reconciliations including GL to sub‑ledgers, bank accounts, and interface transactions
Manage fixed assets accounting, including additions, transfers, revaluations, disposals, and stocktakes
Support cash flow and equity reporting requirements
Assist with monthly and annual financial close, including end‑of‑financial‑year and annual reporting processes
Extract, validate, and prepare financial information for reporting and audit purposes.
Assist with maintenance and updates to the Chart of Accounts
Use Oracle financial systems to process and analyse financial data (training available)
Provide financial advice and support to internal stakeholders
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and a collaborative, customer‑focused team culture
What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrated experience in a computerised General Ledger or equivalent financial system
Strong understanding of debit and credit principles and general ledger accounting
Experience processing journals, fixed assets, and revaluations
Exposure to month‑end and end‑of‑financial‑year reporting activities
Well‑developed spreadsheet and general computing skills
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and conceptual skills
Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal clients
Strong planning, organisation, and time‑management skills.
