They require a highly motivated and skilled gearbox assembler to join their Melbourne team in a permanent capacity.
Your new role
This unique and diverse position will allow you to showcase your previous experience, with tasks including but not limited to:
- Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts involving mainly gear and shaft preparation, gear case preparation, rotor assembly preparation to produce complete industrial gearbox and motors.
- Study drawings and work instructions to determine suitable parts, method and sequence of operations and machine settings
- Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance fit using precision measuring instruments
- Dismantle industrial gearboxes for servicing and repair
- Fault-finding and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts
- Read electrical schematic diagrams and technical specifications & work instructions to fit and assemble decentralised drive systems onto industrial geared motors.
- Cleaning and some painting requirements associated with assembly work
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant manufacturing experience
- Understanding of industrial power transmission and associated products with trade experience as a general assembler
- Experience with fault-finding and preventative maintenance
- Be able to work well in a team and independently when required
- Strong written and communication skills as well as basic maths skills
