Your new company
You'll be joining a multi-entity charity based in Sydney, that provides a number of different NDIS, Aged Care and Home Care services. They are part way through an exciting period of growth as the organisation has a number of entities, and there are future plans to further acquire several new businesses under the group. This role will sit within a non-profit entity and will play a pivotal role in growing the finance team and implementing new processes and systems.
Your new role
You'll be joining the organisation at a busy and challenging time, where new opportunities are springing up all over the place. The Financial Controller role is newly created and will be building a team to support the organisations' substantial acquisitions and mergers. You will be managing a team and be hands-on with ACNC reporting, audit and financial management. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be given the chance to shape process improvement and really leave your mark on the direction of the finance team. Your main responsibilities will be:
- Own the full month end process and deliver accurate management reporting.
- Prepare consolidated group accounts and board ready financial commentary
- Lead statutory reporting, year-end financials, and external audits
- Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and GL integrity
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and reforecasting
- Improve finance systems, processes, and controls
- Lead and mentor a blended onshore/offshore finance team
What you'll need to succeed
CA/CPA qualified with 8+ years’ experience, including 3+ years in a Financial Controller or similar leadership role within the NFP sector.
Strong audit background (public practice or managing external audits)
Proven experience across month end, management reporting, board reporting, and year-end audit in a multi-entity environment
Familiarity with ACNC reporting and charity compliance
Experience in NDIS and/or OOHC, including funding models and acquittals
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop onshore/offshore finance teams
High attention to detail with a hands-on approach
Strong written communication, including board-ready commentary
WWCC (or willingness to obtain)
Full Australian working rights (no sponsorship)
Currently based in NSW

You will be paid as a casual employee at a rate that is competitive and equivalent to an annual salary of $160-180k + super.
