Our
client, a global manufacturing company, is looking for a part-time Financial
Controller to join their team. It will be 3 months initially, with the
potential extend or go permanent for the right candidate. The role can be 3 or
4 days dependent on the successful candidates preference. The office is located
in Waterloo and requires being in office full-time.
Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting
including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, cash management,
bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Lead the finance team and
support the production team with inventory and work-in-progress.
- Prepare and submit all
statutory reports required by regulatory bodies.
- Compile budgets and conduct
proforma analysis, including interim performance reporting.
- Manage treasury functions and
cash flow.
- Supervise the administrative
operations of the office.
- Report to both the Group CFO
and the local Managing Director or appointed representative.
- Contribute to corporate
planning and policy development as part of the management team.
- Potentially grow and expand
the finance department over time.
- Provide reporting directly to
the Board of Directors and help implement business policies and
operations.
Requirements
- Strong ability to both
perform hands-on accounting tasks and conduct financial analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written
communication skills in English.
- Proven experience in
financial statement preparation and consolidation.
- At least 5 years of
experience managing full-scope accounting operations in a small business,
reporting to executive leadership.
- Solid background in inventory
management and cost-centre accounting.
- Familiarity with IFRS
standards and experience in externally audited or publicly listed
companies.
- Certified accountant with a
track record of delivering accurate financial information on time.
- Experience working in
product-based businesses with international operations, including supplier
management.
- Exposure to government
R&D grants and tax credits is desirable.
- Comfortable using systems
like Aware, Zoho One, MYOB, and cloud-based project/time tracking tools;
Mandarin language skills are a plus.
