The finance function partners closely with operational and infrastructure teams to ensure assets are accurately accounted for and reported in line with accounting standards and statutory requirements. Your new role

• Managing the fixed asset register, including capitalisation, depreciation, disposals, and impairments

• Supporting end‑to‑end asset accounting for capital works, asset additions, and asset movements.

• Preparing month‑end journals, reconciliations, and balance sheet commentary related to assets

• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, policies, and financial legislation

• Supporting asset valuations, audits, and year‑end reporting processes

• Partnering with project managers and operational teams to ensure accurate asset financial treatment

• Contributing to process improvements, controls, and system enhancements related to asset accounting

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in financial asset accounting within a large or complex organisation

• Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting, capitalisation rules, depreciation, and asset lifecycle management

• Experience with ERP systems and asset modules (TechOne)

• Solid month‑end and reconciliation capability with strong attention to detail

• Understanding of accounting standards relevant to asset accounting (AASB preferred)

• Ability to work collaboratively with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
