Your new company
Our state government client, based in Perth, is seeking a driven Financial Accountant to join their busy team. Our client is seeking someone to commence as soon as possible through to July 2025. This will be a temporary contract arrangement with the expectation of working a full-time government working week of 37.5 hours.
Your new role
As a Financial Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Prepares and lodges taxation returns, provides taxation advice, and ensures compliance with accounts processing.
- Assists in preparing financial statements, end-of-month/year journals, reconciliations, and reports.
- Calculates and processes fringe benefits taxation and manages related controls.
- Supports financial analysis and accounting reporting obligations as needed.
- Upholds departmental values, ensures excellent service delivery, and seeks continuous improvement.
- Demonstrates dedication to professionalism, innovation, and stakeholder engagement.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work within a team.
- Sound numerical and analytical skills.
- Willingness to undergo an international police check (if not an Australian Citizen)
- Strong background in finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in management or leadership roles.
- Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
