Financial Accountant

Step into your first commercial role with a great finance team - perfect for Big 4 auditors ready to move!

Your new company

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established, value‑driven organisation based in Perth. This role is ideal for a Big4 (or mid‑tier) trained auditor looking to make their first move into industry, or someone with a strong audit foundation who has begun to build commercial experience. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting, while gaining hands-on exposure to core commercial finance activities.

Your new role

In this role, you will work closely with senior finance leaders and a broad group of internal stakeholders, supporting month-end reporting and ensuring high-quality financial information is available to support decision-making. This is a role that offers excellent learning, development and progression for someone early in their commercial career. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Daily bank reconciliations and general ledger analysis
  • Assisting with statutory financial statements and external audits
  • Fixed asset accounting, reporting and reconciliations
  • Support with BAS and FBT preparation
  • Ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required
  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives and documentation

What you'll need to succeed

You will be CA or CPA qualified (or near completion) and bring a strong technical grounding from your training. You’ll also bring a positive, collaborative approach and a desire to build a long-term career in commerce. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Background in Big4 or mid‑tier audit, or audit plus some commercial experience
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles
  • Exposure to month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical capability
  • Confidence communicating with non-finance stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel skills (experience with BI tools or ERP systems is advantageous but not essential)

What you'll get in return

  • A supportive finance team with strong mentorship
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders and meaningful, purpose-led work
  • Hybrid working arrangements and flexible start/finish times
  • Clear pathway for development beyond first move from audit
  • Convenient location with free parking on-site
  • Competitive salary package aligned to experience
