We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Treasury Accountant to join the finance team of a well-established construction business. This role supports critical day-to-day financial operations, with a strong focus on cashflow management, banking, reconciliations, and statutory compliance within a project-based environment.
Your new role
Working closely with senior finance stakeholders, you will play a key role in maintaining liquidity, supporting subcontractor and supplier payments, and ensuring robust financial controls across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily cash positions across multiple bank accounts and projects to ensure adequate liquidity
- Prepare and maintain short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts aligned to project timelines and funding requirements
- Manage electronic payments, receipts, and daily banking transactions
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including subcontractor payments, supplier settlements, and customer receipts
- Perform regular bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and post journals, accruals, and financial reconciliations
- Support statutory obligations including BAS, IAS, payroll tax, and superannuation
- Administer expense management systems such as Concur, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance
- Manage employee deductions, third-party payments, and superannuation processing
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements and financial reporting
- Support finance process improvements and system upgrades or testing within a SAP Cloud environment
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, finance policies, and regulatory requirements
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Officer, Treasury Accountant, or similar role
Experience in the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sector is highly regarded
Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and reconciliations in a project-based environment
Working knowledge of Australian statutory and tax requirements including BAS, payroll tax, and superannuation
Experience using ERP systems, with SAP preferred, and expense platforms such as Concur
Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing deadlines
A proactive, team-oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement
