Your new role

The Finance Officer is responsible for delivering accurate and comprehensive financial reporting and record keeping that meets the operational needs of the department, complies with external funding requirements and legislative obligations, and provides practical solutions to financial inefficiencies as they arise.

You will be responsible for:
  • Collating a wide range of financial information, reports, and data in alignment with appropriate standards, policies, procedures, and contractual requirements, ensuring the service delivery is accurate, professional and acts as an enabler for executive decision-making.

  • Maintaining the integrity of financial data, records, and accounts by preparing journals, financial transactions, and invoices, identifying any anomalies and taking appropriate action to clear incorrect entries in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policy.

  • Delivering high quality, consistent and accurate customer-focused financial support services, ensuring the service provisions are customer-centric, informed, professional and in line with relevant processes.

  • Develop and nurture strong and positive working relationships within the department to ensure staff are well-informed of their individual financial responsibilities, including documentation compliance and financial delegations.

  • Contributing to continual improvement of service delivery, evaluating customer outcomes and service satisfaction against business processes and database content and assisting with subsequent implementation of corrective actions as required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Relevant experience in the same or similar role.

  • Proven ability to review and analyse financial data and prepare detailed reports, ensuring compliance with contractual conditions, policies, and regulations.

  • Sound organisational problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies in business processes and implement effective improvement initiatives.

  • Demonstrated computer literacy, particularly proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and corporate accounting systems.

  • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders.
