FIFO Electrician

Experienced FIFO A-Grade Electricians are required for surface mine project.

Your new company

We’re seeking experienced A‑Grade FIFO Electricians to join the construction and commissioning team on a major new-build surface mining project. This is a hands‑on project role working from the ground up. Ideal for electricians with strong experience on large‑scale mining construction, fixed‑plant installation, and commissioning environments.

Your new role

As part of the electrical construction and commissioning team, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of establishing a new surface mine operation.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Commissioning new plant and equipment (conveyors, crushers, pumps, MCCs, HV/LV switchgear)
  • Motor control systems: VSDs, soft starters, overload protection, MCC diagnostics
  • DCS/PLC I/O testing, loop checks, and field device troubleshooting
  • Maintaining electrical distribution systems (LV & HV where qualified)
  • Preventative and breakdown maintenance on fixed‑plant equipment
  • Electrical compliance, testing, reporting, and isolation/LOTO processes
  • Supporting shutdown work, upgrades, and project installations
You will play a key part in taking the site from construction through to operational readiness.

What you'll need to succeed

Mandatory:
  • Unrestricted A‑Grade Electrical Licence
  • Proven experience working on new-build or major expansion mining projects
  • FIFO experience in similar surface-mine construction environments
  • Strong background in commissioning, MCCs, motor control, and fixed‑plant equipment
  • White Card
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and commissioning documentation
  • Strong fault‑finding skills during energisation and start‑up phases
  • Instrumentation qualification (Highly Desirable but not required.)
