Your new company
We are working with a small State Government Department, with various sites across the Perth metro area. Based out of their main site, just 10 minutes from Perth CBD, we are seeking a proactive and experienced Facilities and Contracts Manager to oversee the strategic and operational management of our facilities, fleet, environmental initiatives, and major service contracts. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient delivery of services, compliance with procurement standards, and alignment with sustainability goals.
Your new role
- Oversee the operational readiness and maintenance of all plant equipment, including generators and vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and manage lifecycle planning for fleet assets.
- Lead initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact and achieving carbon neutrality.
- Manage utility contracts and monitor energy consumption to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
- Administer and monitor large-scale service contracts including security, audiovisual systems, CCTV, cleaning, and leasing arrangements.
- Ensure service delivery meets contractual obligations and performance standards.
- Prepare and manage procurement documentation, including government tenders and formal responses.
- Raise requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with internal policies and public sector procurement guidelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure procurement activities align with operational needs and budgetary constraints.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in facilities management, contract administration, or procurement within a complex operational environment.
- Strong understanding of government tendering processes and public procurement regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple service contracts and vendor relationships effectively.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and environmental compliance standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Experience working in a government or public sector setting.
- Familiarity with asset management systems and procurement platforms.
