Our client is a large state government department, based in Perth CBD. They are seeking an experienced Executive Officer to cover a 4-5 month temporary vacancy.
*Please note, to be successful in this role, you must undergo a National Criminal History Check by the organisation. Please note that this can take a number of weeks to complete and is at your own cost.
Your new role
The key role of the Executive Officer is to provide a professional level of executive, administrative, research and secretarial support to the Commissioner.
The position is pivotal in the efficient functioning of the Commissioner’s office and operates in an environment of competing priorities and constant adjustment. Discretion and judgement are required in dealing with numerous confidential and sensitive issues.
Duties include:
- Diary management
- Preparation and vetting of confidential and sensitive correspondence
- Prioritisation of telephone calls and enquiries
- Coordination of travel and accommodation requirements
- Provide administrative support for meetings/committees (some minute taking may be required)
- Records management.
- Coordinate & track briefing notes & ministerial papers
- Prepare background papers, file notes and reports ensuring the Commissioner is informed and prepared for committees and meetings
- Liaise and interact with a diverse range of internal and external customers including executives and senior representatives within the public and private sector.
What you'll need to succeed
Prior experience in a similar role is essential.
Previous government experience would be beneficial.
