A highly respected, purpose‑driven not-for-profit organisation, the Uniting Church Synod of South Australia, is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to the Executive Officer, Resources. This is a key executive partnership role within a values‑led organisation committed to supporting ministry and mission across South Australia.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the Executive Officer, Resources, you will provide confidential, proactive and highly organised executive support across a broad governance and operational portfolio. The Executive Officer, Resources is responsible for maximising the Church’s financial and property resources while minimising operational risk, ensuring the Synod is well positioned to fulfil its mission. As their Executive Assistant, you will act as a trusted partner, managing information flow, coordinating governance processes and supporting effective decision-making at executive and board level. You will also provide integral support to the Resources Board, its Executive, the Property Trust and associated committees, requiring sound judgement, discretion and the confidence to operate within complex governance frameworks. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
High-level executive, secretarial and administrative support
Complex diary management, correspondence and document preparation
Coordinating agendas, board papers, minutes and meeting logistics
Liaising with senior leaders, board members and key stakeholders
Maintaining governance records, policies and registers
Coordinate key communications (edit and distribute) on behalf of the Resources Team
Supervising the Administration Officer (Resources)
What you'll need to succeed
You are an accomplished Executive Assistant with proven experience supporting senior leaders and boards within complex or values‑driven organisations. You bring a high level of professionalism and the ability to build trusted working relationships.
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
Extensive experience in a senior Executive Assistant or similar role
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational and time management capability
Proven discretion, integrity and sound judgement
Confidence engaging with a broad range of stakeholders
Strong Microsoft Office capability
Tertiary qualifications in business administration or equivalent experience
Experience within the not-for-profit sector, familiarity with governance environments, and alignment with the ethos and mission of the Uniting Church will be highly regarded.
