The client is a Tasmanian, family-owned company with over 35 years of experience. Their reputation extends both nationally and internationally as pioneers in plastic innovation. They specialise in serving the aquaculture, industrial, civil, and agricultural sectors.

Your new role

As an Estimator, you’ll play a vital role within the client’s supportive sales and estimating team. Your primary responsibilities will involve:
  • Reviewing and understanding tender documentation.
  • Interpreting drawings and plans to generate material take-offs and construction methodologies.
  • Costing work scope using detailed pricing models and creating tender submission packages.
  • Collaborating with the client’s operations team during scoping, including design options aligned with customer needs.
  • Considering commercial risk in customer agreements.
  • Working closely with the supply chain and purchasing team members for procurement.
  • Liaising with the Production Coordinator, customers, and suppliers to coordinate project timing.
  • Handing over job packages to the operations team, complete with accurate take-offs, estimates, and plans.
  • Monitoring progress throughout the project, managing variations and scope changes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience in scoping, estimating, and procurement related to HDPE fabrication, pipelines, and plumbing solutions.
  • Alternatively, quantity surveyors and operations/construction leaders seeking to transition into estimating and administration aspects are also welcome.
  • Tertiary/TAFE education in construction, quantity surveying, or a related discipline is advantageous.
