Your new company
Hays is partnering with a large portfolio building owner with a diverse range of asset types, as they look to enhance and expand their internal asset management division. Our client's portfolio spans across multiple sites, encompassing 200+ buildings.
Your new role
The Energy Efficiency Engineer is responsible for establishing and delivering our client's Energy Optimisation program, translating strategic energy and decarbonisation intent into practical, on‑the‑ground outcomes. The Energy Efficiency Engineer will design, shape, and build the program from inception through to delivery; whilst protecting the operational capacity of our client's portfolio.
The role leads the identification, scoping, coordination, and delivery of a portfolio of small‑scale, high‑impact energy optimisation initiatives, working closely with internal teams, service contractors, and delivery partners. It establishes and maintains a disciplined delivery cadence, ensuring priorities are converted into implemented works and that outcomes are verified, evidenced, and reported.
Operating at the intersection of strategy and operations, the position works in close partnership with the Electrification, Sustainability, Net Zero, and BAS/HVAC department leads, that will form part of the Energy Management Group.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in engineering, building services, energy/sustainability, or equivalent demonstrated technical facilities experience.
- Experience in facilities environments; ability to interpret technical documentation and work effectively with contractors and internal technical teams.
- Demonstrated capability to design and run delivery processes/systems and a monthly delivery cadence across stakeholders.
- Competence with energy data, metering/trending, and producing defensible (right-sized) evidence of outcomes.
- Strong written communication (memos, briefs, approval packs) and ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- Practical capability to build and maintain Power BI reporting and dashboards (or equivalent).
What you'll get in return
- Typical roster of Mon - Fri, 08:00 - 16:30.
- 3/2 office/WFH split once trained, office based in Melbourne's south-east with occasional travel to other Melbourne-based sites.
- Make an impact in a newly-created role, initially 12 months with an option for a 12-month extension based on success of the program.
- $80 - $90 + 12% super casual hourly rate, dependent on relevant industry experience.
- Work at a high level of responsibility within a positive and focused client-side workplace environment.
