Hays has partnered with a power generation and sustainable energy business based in Queensland looking for an Electrical Engineer RPEQ role for a Hydro Plant based in Northern Queensland.

Your New Role

As an Electrical Engineer in this role, your responsibilities will include:

• You’ll drive electrical strategy, systems, and project delivery across power generation sites.
• You’ll manage compliance, support asset planning, improve operations, and provide technical guidance.
• You’ll assist with day-to-day site breakdowns, electrical plant strategy reviews, (Bowties) develop electrical project work scopes.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• The client is looking for someone local to Northern Queensland (No FIFO preferred).
• Degree in Electrical Engineering + RPEQ (or eligibility within 6–18 months).
• Experience in hydro or gas generation preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, regulations, and project management.
• Ability to resolve complex technical issues and manage multi-site operations.
• Collaborative approach and stakeholder management skills.
