My client is a design and build company and is a leading provider of innovative engineering solutions across Australia. With a huge pipeline of high-profile projects, my client is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team.


Your new role

As a Building Services Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective design of electrical systems for my client's diverse range of projects. You will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of electrical engineering projects. You will oversee project teams, coordinate with stakeholders, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement of engineering practices. Further responsibilities will include conducting client briefings, managing relationships, and promoting teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Lead the design and development of electrical systems for complex commercial projects. A large portion of these include hyperscale data centres.
  • Prepare detailed electrical schematics, layout drawings, and specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, develop project proposals, and provide cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Prepare and present project reports to senior management and clients.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships to ensure project objectives are met.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer required or near completion.
  • Strong background in electrical design and project delivery, particularly in large commercial projects.
  • Data centre electrical engineering experience is essential.
  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams, deliver complex projects, and maintain high technical standards and compliance.
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Full Australian working rights & Australian experience is essential.
