Hays are partnering with a global leader in intralogistics and retail automation to recruit Electrical Technicians for a landmark automation project. This is a rare opportunity to be involved from installation through to live operations on one of the most advanced automated DC builds in Australia.
Your new role
You’ll join the team during the installation and commissioning phase, working hands-on with cutting-edge automation systems as the site is built and brought to life.
With the site scheduled to go live in August 2027, you’ll transition into a key role maintaining and optimising a fully operational, high-volume automated distribution centre.
Support installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced automation systems
Carry out electrical fault-finding and diagnostics during build and ramp-up
Work with engineers on system validation and performance optimisation
Transition into maintenance of a live, 24/7 automated site post go-live
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems and minimise downtime
Ensure compliance with safety and site standards
What you'll need to succeed
NSW Electrical License
Experience in automation, FMCG, warehousing, or manufacturing environments
Strong fault-finding skills across conveyors, robotics, or materials handling systems
Experience with Siemens PLCs (desirable)
Comfortable working across both project/commissioning and live production environments
Strong team player with a proactive mindset
