Your New Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing high-quality, plain English advice, reports, and discussion papers to support the Independent Advisory Council (IAC) in influencing organisation outcomes.
  • Conducting research, analysis, and planning activities to inform evidence-based recommendations, particularly relating to First Nations participants.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including IAC members, reference groups, and community representatives.
  • Facilitating meetings, steering groups, and capacity-building sessions, while supporting members to contribute effectively and confidently.
  • Providing expert, culturally informed advice and supporting continuous improvement of policies and practices impacting First Nations people with disability.

What You Will Need to Succeed

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Strong experience in developing high-quality written advice, reports, and briefing materials in plain English.
  • A solid understanding of the Federal Government Agency, particularly in relation to First Nations participants and disability policy.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills to inform evidence-based decision-making.
  • The ability to work in a dynamic environment, show initiative, and provide culturally informed and sensitive advice.

The Logistics

  • 6-month contract with possibility of extension or permanency.
  • Part-time contract (3 days per week)
  • Daily rate of $602.55 + super.
  • Flexible working location and arrangement – opportunities across Australia.
  • Australian Citizenship is required.
