Our client is a large, high-profile Federal Government Department who are at the forefront of promoting and protecting Australia’s international interests. With a significant upcoming, large-scale access control project for the department, they are currently seeking an experienced EL1 or EL2 Project Manager with a sound understanding of the Protective Security Policy Framework and experience dealing with Security Construction and Equipment Committee specialists.
Your new role
The EACS Project Manager will manage the delivery of a large-scale access control project adhering to a timeline and budget.
Duties include:
- Manage the design and documentation through all project phases - Initiation, Design & Documentation, Delivery, Handover/Takeover (HOTO), and Defects Liability Period (DLP)
- Deliver and coordinate security-related fit out for domestic refurbishments
- Manage project scope, risks and stakeholder expectations to ensure smooth integration of activities
- Communicate and collaborate with project stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- Prepare, manage, review and update project documentation
- Ensure quality standards and project schedule are maintained
- Liaise with suppliers, consultants and contractors to support project delivery
- Track overall progress, optimise resource utilisations and initiate action when required
What you'll need to succeed
- Good understanding and experience of delivering construction and physical security infrastructure projects
- Excellent stakeholder management skills – ability to liaise with key stakeholders and develop project briefs
- In-depth understanding of PSPF and the department's security standards and Security Construction Equipment Committee (SCEC)
- Ability to review designs against the project brief and check for consistency and usability
- Experience developing statement of work/requirements for external contractors, drafting work orders
- Expertise in contract, procurement and financial management
- Strong knowledge of the commonwealth government procurement guidelines
- Strong leadership capabilities and high-level communication skills
- Ability to travel as required for projects domestically
- You must be an Australian citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an NV2 Security Clearance.
