Your new role
Provide leadership in the areas of safety, health, and environment, and aid in developing a culture that values EHS in business. Ensure that all site activities are completed in accordance with relevant Environmental and Health and Safety regulatory and internal requirements. The EHS Manager works closely with site personnel to ensure all obligations are met, certifications are maintained, risks identified and controlled, and all relevant EHS training is completed to deliver continual improvements across EHS metrics.
- Lead EHS metric improvements across the site and continually improve the site’s EHS culture.
- Maintain and improve the necessary EHS standards to ensure environmental performance, the health & safety of site personnel, visitors, contractors & neighbours, whilst ensuring the Quaker Forrestfield business is compliant with PepsiCo standards and all applicable legislation.
- Implement the ANZ strategic EHS plans at the site.
- Maintain OHSAS18001/ASNZS4801 and ISO14001 certifications for the site.
- Maintain site business continuity plans to meet Global Security standards and ensure annual testing and review of the plans, including scenario-based testing to continuously improve the plan.
- Co-ordinate the efforts of and coach personnel through the development of critical documentation and tools to support risk assessments, safe work practices, and adverse event/near miss reporting & investigation via MyEHS.
- Provide EHS direction, assistance, and support for corrective actions and recommendations to assure site EHS improvements.
- Help create a culture of zero harm within the site team by demonstrating honest, genuine care and passion for EHS.
Responsible for both WA sites, including the Sales team – Approximately 84 employees across Operations, Sales, S&D and Administration
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered and be successful, you will:
Skills:
- Be skilled and knowledgeable in hazard and exposure identification, auditing and inspections, conducting Environmental, Health, and Safety training, and related governmental reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to develop trend analyses to guide safety accident/injury elimination, environmental management, and WWT analytical goals.
- Have a collaborative and hands-on approach to achieving goals
- Ability to engage and work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and at varying levels within the business.
Knowledge:
- Tertiary qualifications in an Environmental or Health and Safety discipline, or related field.
- Have a solid, demonstrable working knowledge of local regulatory compliance requirements (across EHS).
Experience:
Minimum 7 years’ experience in Safety and Environmental management in a manufacturing environment

- Risk assessment and development of a risk approach to activities, focussing on proactive and preventative strategies
- Develop and maintain a proactive, positive EHS culture
- Managing records and systems that comply with requirements
