Hays are working with a leading not-for-profit organisation that offer mental health support services to young people across Western Australia. The Organisation is experiencing a period of growth and are looking for an experienced Senior Youth Access Clinician to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a rare and exciting DIDO opportunity at 0.6 or 0.8 FTE working approx. 90km from Perth CBD.
Your new role
The Senior Youth Access Clinician is responsible for undertaking single session Counselling services to youth and families at the clinic and co-partner sites across local community, partaking in evidence-based therapeutic interventions. The main accountabilities of the position include:
• Provide psychosocial assessment and interventions using agreed tools
• Conduct initial intake of referrals to determine appropriateness of service
• Act as a clients initial case manager until case has been allocated, monitoring the ongoing mental health status and risk level
• Maintain accurate case notes on the organisations internal database
• Respond to external enquiries from young people, families, agencies or communities seeking support
• Work in collaboration with the clinical coordinator to ensure adequate triage capacity
• Provide specialist youth mental health advice to consortium partners and co-located services
• Partake in regular clinical case review meetings
• Adhere to compliance requirements, ensuring services are undertaken in accordance with current legislation, clinical care standards and policies
• Participate in the development of satellite programs and initiatives between local and regional locations
What you'll need to succeed
• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing + active registration with relevant body
• Minimum 3 years' experience working in mental health, ideally within a tier 2/3 youth mental health environment
• Knowledge and experience working with youth at risk
• Experience working across Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
