Development Manager

Development Manager required for land projects- growing, experienced, boutique firm. $140k- $180k+

Your new company

I have dealt with this organisation for many years, and have known the Development Director since he was a few years post graduate. Although small in size they are packed with experience and a vast Victorian network. Their business operates across both development and project management. Their client base is huge and diverse, both local and overseas clients. They have a huge amount of work across the land sector, including residential, commercial, sport, aviation civil land. They are full of energy, they're ambitious, give autonomy to staff on projects, less red tape than those larger corporate developers, and know how to have fun- if you sit with head phones in all day, this isn't your place.

Your new role

You may be a new-ish Assistant/Development Manager or experienced. You will be self sufficient, and will be comfortable and capable of running projects without direct day-to-day involvement from senior staff. You will get full exposure to the project life cycle, unlike some larger corporates where everything is segregated. You will be across acquisitions, feasibility, planning and approvals, financial management, risk, etc.

This role may suit someone coming from a PM consultancy or another developer- the key is experience in front end planning

Those only from an engineering firm or a contractor will not be suitable.

What you'll need to succeed

A construction/ property related Degree

4- 10 years experience
You MUST have experience in front end planning- which will come from a role within a developer or a PM consultancy
Land experience would be highly advantageous, however commercial, house/land, industrial experience be acceptable
Based here in Melbourne with PR as a minimum
A strong, fun personality with good communication skills
