Your new role
As a Design Studio Manager, you will lead a new division focused on delivering full interior design services and creating successful work environments.
As a new Interior Design unit, you will oversee the shaping of the department, leading product development initiatives, helping shape the furniture and workspace solutions with your expert design work.

Key Responsibilities
Concept Design Development: Lead the development of creative concept designs, guiding the team through to construction documentation while ensuring alignment with client expectations.
Project Management: Manage your own projects and collaborate with the team, overseeing multiple initiatives to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional results.
Product Development Involvement: Contribute to the development and refinement of furniture and workspace solutions, working cross-functionally to align design with product innovation.
Client Engagement: Interact directly with clients to gather briefs, understand their needs, and present tailored design solutions that exceed expectations.
Communication and Presentation: Deliver compelling presentations and maintain excellent communication with clients and team members throughout the project lifecycle.
Research: Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to inform design choices and recommendations.
Workplace Strategy Contribution: Leverage local market knowledge to inform design decisions and contribute to workplace strategy development, fostering a collaborative approach.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering their professional development and enhancing team performance.
Quality Assurance: Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
What you'll need to succeed
8+ years of experience in a similar leadership role; experience in commercial and workplace fit-outs
Tertiary qualifications in Interior Design or a related field – Highly regarded
Proven track record in managing commercial fit-out projects
Local Australian experience, with knowledge of the regional market and trends
Experience leading projects and managing teams from inception to completion
Proficiency in design software AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and Revit
Growth mindset, with a desire to develop professionally
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Good delegator, able to effectively assign tasks and responsibilities within the team.
Personable, with strong interpersonal skills that foster positive client and team relationships
