Your new role
As Design Manager, you’ll be responsible for the quality, creativity, and delivery of all design outputs across our business. You’ll lead a team of designers and drafters, mentor junior staff, and collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and internal departments. This is a senior leadership role with real influence—your work will be central to our continued growth and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the in-house design/drafting team
Oversee design from inception to handover, including site analysis, feasibility, masterplanning, and documentation
Collaborate with clients to develop and document design briefs
Produce high-quality documentation using Revit and AutoCAD
Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (BCA, NCC, local authority codes)
Maintain document control, software licencing, and drafting libraries
Stay current with design trends, products, and regulatory changes
Work closely with HR and IT to manage staffing and systems
Support other departments (Construction, Estimating) as needed
What you'll need to succeed
8+ years in a similar role; architecture/design/drafting within a Design and Construct
Experience in a Design and Construct and Architectural firm - Ideal
Excellent Design technical ability – drawing and designing
Experience across the full project lifecycle; design through to construct
Excellent communication skills; client management and team leadership
Strong creative vision and spatial planning ability
Strong understanding of NCC local standards, compliance and building codes
Deep understanding of fit-for-purpose design and construction documentation
High proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
Detail-oriented, organised, and deadline-driven
