Engineering design manager fancy available in Adelaide for 6 months +


Your new company
Our client is a government-owned utility provider delivering essential services to South Australia. In a phase of growth, they are looking for an Engineering Design Manager to lead internal engineering multidisciplinary projects to support the Manager Engineering and provide consistent, value for money, accurate and timely technical information.

Your new role
Ideally, you will have experience working in the water, mining, oil and gas or similar industries as a Design Manager.

  • Initially a 6-month contract
  • Contribute to industry-leading WHS performance across the entire corporation
  • Ensure full compliance with the Safety in Design (SID) process to ensure that health and safety risks arising from design throughout the asset life cycle are eliminated or minimised.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership in role modelling the safety behaviours and culture defined by the Engineering Safety Framework
  • Act as multidisciplinary design manager to lead technical teams in delivering consistent, value for money, accurate and timely technical information/outputs.
  • Create a plan for achieving effective design delivery and provide evidence of meeting identified milestones, taking into account other business needs including water quality, stakeholder relations, security, WHS, etc.
  • Develop an understanding of Safety in Design Standards, and display evidence of compliance in relation to designs, project deliverables and technical documentation
  • Ensure project expectations/milestones are clear to design teams, key stakeholders, and Engineering Managers
What you'll need to succeed
  • Associate Diploma of Project Management and /or Postgraduate qualifications in Project Management or Business Management
  • Experience in engineering design, design review and development and review of infrastructure standards with sound analytical skills and the demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems
  • A professional (i.e. B.Eng) engineering qualification
