Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Design Manager, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality engineering and design outcomes within agreed timeframes and performance expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing manufacturing-ready engineering solutions through collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet organisational and customer requirements.
- Applying advanced Computer-Aided Design (CAD) techniques to analyse, develop, and refine complex technical designs.
- Providing engineering expertise across the business to resolve manufacturing process challenges and support technical decision-making.
- Reviewing and evaluating designs against strategic objectives, engineering standards, and contractual requirements, identifying and recommending improvements where required.
- Introducing innovative and modern engineering methodologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency, capability, and quality outcomes.
- Producing comprehensive technical drawings, documentation, manuals, and specifications in accordance with industry standards and customer expectations.
- Supporting engineering review processes, vendor engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
- Developing and maintaining strong knowledge of relevant engineering standards, regulations, codes, guidelines, and best-practice methodologies.
What you'll need to succeed
- A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively within small engineering and design teams, as well as collaborating with diverse, trade-based and operational workgroups.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with unskilled, trade-qualified, and craft-qualified personnel, in addition to engineering, management, and sales professionals.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capability, enabling timely and effective resolution of technical and process-related challenges.
- Proven ability to contribute to best-practice processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Well-developed organisational, planning, and time-management skills, ensuring effective prioritisation and delivery of work.
- The ability to operate effectively within a team environment while contributing positively to a productive workplace culture aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives, values, and vision.
