Your new company
You’ll be partnering with a local government organisation responsible for delivering essential services and enabling ongoing technological change that directly supports community outcomes. Operating within a complex regulatory and governance environment, the organisation balances operational service delivery with planned project and change initiatives across critical infrastructure platforms.
The environment values transparency, accountability, and predictability, with a strong emphasis on improving delivery flow, visibility, and stakeholder confidence across both operational and project portfolios.
Your new role
As the Delivery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enabling predictable delivery and smooth operational flow across the CET portfolio. You’ll provide hands‑on leadership of CET’s delivery operating model across three core streams of work: Incidents, Small Work Orders, and Large Work Orders/Projects.
You’ll be accountable for improving delivery outcomes through clear prioritisation, capacity‑based planning, disciplined execution, and strong engagement with stakeholders across hybrid and virtual teams. Your leadership will directly contribute to reducing failed sprints, improving work visibility, and ensuring CET reliably meets both service and project commitments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and continuously improving CET’s delivery operating model from intake through execution.
- Leading all sprint and flow ceremonies, ensuring they are time‑boxed, outcome‑focused, and actionable.
- Establishing and maintaining hours‑based, capacity‑driven planning for Large WOs and Projects.
- Driving delivery discipline through working agreements, including Definition of Ready/Done, scope protection, and controlled expedite intake.
- Improving predictability by ensuring work is appropriately decomposed, dependencies are identified early, and governance (AAB, CGB, CAB) is planned upfront.
- Providing strong delivery visibility across hybrid teams through async updates, proactive risk escalation, and transparent blocker management.
- Coordinating prioritisation and trade‑offs with CET leadership to handle urgent work without destabilising committed plans.
- Aligning execution tracking and stakeholder communication across tools such as Jira and Helix.
- Using metrics and timesheet data to create feedback loops that drive continuous improvement.
- Delivering insightful reporting on sprint reliability, throughput, lead times, WIP health, and systemic constraints.
- Facilitating cross‑functional collaboration across infrastructure domains to remove bottlenecks and improve end‑to‑end flow.
- Driving adoption of standard delivery artefacts, templates, and practices to increase consistency and repeatability.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through better intake classification, clearer service lead times, and pragmatic automation or standardisation.
