Your new role
As the Database Governance Analyst, you will play a key role in managing and enhancing metadata within the organisation’s Aristotle Metadata Registry. You’ll ensure data assets are well‑defined, accessible and governed by maintaining metadata standards, documenting business terms, supporting data access processes, and coordinating metadata updates with stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating, updating and improving metadata in the Aristotle Metadata Registry
- Acting as a data steward for assigned domains
- Managing internal and external data access permissions and approvals
- Developing and maintaining the enterprise data glossary and related documentation
- Coordinating with SMEs, data owners and technical teams to validate metadata
- Supporting governance initiatives, data lineage clarity, and compliance requirements
- Supporting metadata‑focused projects and onboarding new datasets into the registry
What you'll need to succeed
- Hands‑on experience with the Aristotle Metadata Registry or similar metadata platforms
- Proven background in metadata management, governance or data stewardship
- Strong documentation skills, including developing glossaries, definitions and metadata standards
- Understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality and data lifecycle management
- Experience coordinating metadata updates and working with business/technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of data access controls, permissions, privacy and compliance processes
- Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail
- Experience in large, complex or regulated environments
- Familiarity with SQL, data modelling concepts or data lineage
