A leading national technology and communications contractor is seeking an experienced Data Technician for a temporary contract delivering works across data centre and large-scale commercial environments.
This role will suit a technically strong contractor who is comfortable working on live sites, within structured projects, and under strict safety and compliance requirements.
Your New Role
Working across data centre and commercial construction projects, your responsibilities will include:
- Installation, termination, testing, and commissioning of structured cabling systems (copper and fibre)
- Data hall and commercial fit‑out works, including pathways, containment, and racks
- Electrical works such as containment, fit‑off, minor power, and equipment connections
- Fault-finding and troubleshooting of data and electrical infrastructure
- Reading and interpreting drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Ensuring all works meet Australian Standards, WHS requirements, and project specifications
- Coordinating effectively with site supervisors, project managers, and other trades
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship in live, operational environments
What You’ll Need to Succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Current NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience as a Data Technician, Electrical Technician, or similar
- Strong background in data centre and/or commercial construction environments
- Solid understanding of structured cabling standards and testing procedures
- Experience working to tight timelines in high‑pressure site environments
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
