A leading AU Federal Government agency are seeking experienced Data Project Managers to join a transformative program focused on developing foundational data assets, delivering actionable insights, and enhancing data pipelines. This role is critical to supporting the agency’s strategic objectives through effective coordination and delivery of data initiatives.
About the Role
As a Data Project Manager, you will lead the planning and execution of data and reporting projects across agile delivery squads. You will work closely with internal teams, including IT, Service Design, Platform, and the Data & Analytics Branch, to manage dependencies and ensure successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate planning and delivery of data assets and reporting solutions
Develop and manage project schedules, balancing technical and business priorities
Oversee delivery of data solutions in collaboration with internal teams
Represent projects in change management and release planning activities
Ensure adherence to design, coding, and quality standards
Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions using MS Project, JIRA, and Confluence
Provide regular status reporting and maintain stakeholder engagement
Promote a collaborative and high-performing team environment
Lead continuous improvement initiatives in data project delivery
Essential Criteria:
8–10 years of experience managing IT, data, or analytics projects
Advanced proficiency in MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, PowerPoint, and Visio
Strong understanding of contemporary project management frameworks and governance
Relevant tertiary qualifications and a recognised project management certification
Desirable Criteria:
Interest in accessible design and development
Experience with SQL and SAS
Familiarity with data testing and UAT execution
