Your new role

As a Data Modeller, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining logical and physical data models aligned with organisational standards and guardrails. You’ll collaborate with Solution Architects, Project Managers, Delivery Managers, Technical Leads, and business stakeholders to design high‑quality data models and ensure consistency across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing expert data modelling support across teams, tribes, or squads
  • Working with business stakeholders and analysts to define requirements
  • Advising on and implementing best‑practice data modelling approaches
  • Creating and maintaining logical and physical models using modelling tools and version control
  • Driving alignment to data architecture standards and guardrails
  • Working with development teams to implement data models
  • Championing strong modelling design and governance
  • Implementing data modelling governance frameworks
  • Mentoring and guiding the data modelling community
  • Conducting peer reviews of modelling artefacts
  • Applying strong industry knowledge of business domains to modelling work
  • Influencing decisions across organisational boundaries
  • Staying current with emerging technologies and modelling methodologies

What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computing, engineering, or equivalent experience
Mandatory Skills & Capabilities
  • Advanced Dimensional Modelling (logical and physical)
  • Advanced Data Vault Modelling and Data Vault Architecture
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience implementing data models in databases
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Proven experience creating Enterprise Bus Matrices
  • Ability to work in fast‑paced environments
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Data Modelling
  • Experience with InfoSphere Data Architect or Erwin (desired)
  • Experience in insurance or financial services (highly advantageous)
