Your new role
As a Data Engineer at AAL, you will play a crucial role in enhancing their Data and Business Intelligence capabilities. Your focus will be on data ingestion, transformation, integration, and modelling. Reporting directly to the Data & Business Intelligence Lead, you will collaborate within a close-knit team. As AAL transitions from legacy on-premises systems to the cloud, your technical expertise will be instrumental in ensuring a seamless migration. Additionally, you will serve as the liaison between senior stakeholders and relevant third-party support, serving as the internal go-to data expert.
What you'll need to succeed
Technical:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Data Engineering including ETL/ELT design and implementation.
- Proven expertise with Azure technologies (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, ADLSg2, and Azure DevOps).
- Exceptional understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modelling.
- Technical competency with SQL, Python and API’s.
- Experience using Microsoft SSIS / Microsoft Fabric / Power BI.
- Any related Azure Data Engineer certifications will be highly regarded.
Personal:
- An enthusiasm for data and business intelligence.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience working with a range of stakeholders.
- A strong focus on customer satisfaction.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing learning.
