Your new role
As a Data Architect, you will be a part of the Data Delivery team within Business Technology Services (BTS). They establish and govern business, application, data, and infrastructure technology strategies, plans and architectures along with managing the delivery of data and operational reporting initiatives and the delivery of the modernisation of data delivery through the Data Program and the development of data capacities in an Oracle Cloud environment, including the build and utilisation of a cloud-based data lakehouse.

Role and responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of overall ICT strategies, plans and directions.
• Lead the development and maintenance of specific data management, enterprise intelligence, and operational reporting architectures, strategies, plans, and implementation roadmaps for legacy data systems and to support the shifting of data assets, functionality and capacities into an Oracle Cloud environment.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining data, enterprise intelligence, and operational reporting technology platforms and applications.
• Work with the business and BTS solution delivery personnel to understand requirements, and assist in the scope, design and procurement of enterprise data, systems and services.
  
  What you'll need to succeed

• Strong understanding of contemporary and modern cloud-based data and enterprise intelligence architecture principles and approaches including data warehousing, lakes and marts.
• Demonstrated broad-based data architecture experience incorporating planning, design and delivery and support within medium to large organizations.
• Strong understanding of ICT data architecture and delivery directions and trends including cloud computing, document and records management, operational reporting, predictive analytics and machine learning, AI supported applications and microservices.
• Ability to collaborate with ICT and business associates to understand data, reporting and analytics technology drivers and requirements along with practical experience in planning for, evaluating, procuring, integrating, securing and operationalizing business data and applications.
• High-level communication (interpersonal, verbal and written) and presentation skills to articulate strategies, plans, directions, architectures, and roadmaps to non-technical audiences at all levels and influence decision-making.
• 5+ years’ experience strategizing, specifying, designing and governing data and enterprise intelligence projects in medium to large enterprises.
• Undergraduate, postgraduate degree or professional qualifications as they relate to this position.
• Formal training in business analysis, data management, information engineering or analytics.
