They are looking for a Dam Safety Engineer to join their asset and infrastructure services department.
Your new role
As a Dam Safety Engineer, you'll ensure the safety, compliance, and management of referable dams, detention basins, and levees. You'll provide technical leadership, strategic planning, and operational excellence. This role reports to the Principal Asset Engineer (Civil).
Key Responsibilities:
Manage referable dams, levees, and detention basins by updating documents, conducting inspections, and implementing maintenance strategies.
Collaborate with stakeholders to uphold safety standards and provide specialized advice.
Develop and maintain safety documentation, including EAPs and OMM.
Conduct inspections, assessments, and safety reviews.
Review risk reports, escalate safety concerns, and ensure compliance with regulations.
Analyse surveillance data and maintain safety documentation.
Coordinate with Disaster and Emergency Management Units on emergency responses and alarm systems.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
Queensland "C" class driver’s licence.
Desirable: RPEQ registration (or ability to obtain within six months).
Experience with regulatory bodies, engineering safety documentation and recommendations highly desirable.
Hydraulics, geotechnical, maintenance planning/ delivery, dam and water treatment infrastructure upgrades and other relevant experience.
Proficiency in managing referable dams, inspections, and safety assessments.
Ability to assess safety risks, analyse data, escalate concerns, and coordinate emergency responses.
Strong communication, negotiation skills, and analytical problem-solving.
