Join a leading NSW local government organisation known for its commitment to sustainable city planning, community focus and high‑quality services. You will be part of the City Planning, Development & Transport Division, working within the Planning Assessments team.
Your new role
As a Planner, you will be responsible for undertaking efficient and effective assessments of development applications to ensure proposals meet statutory requirements and align with Council policies.
Key duties include:
- Assess development applications, outdoor dining applications and minor heritage works (HWC).
- Provide high‑quality written reports to the Local Planning Panel (LPP) and CSPC.
- Manage development application processes from lodgement to determination.
- Coordinate internal and external referrals and ensure all matters are considered.
- Deliver expert customer service to applicants, residents and stakeholders.
- Prepare evidence and appear as an expert witness in the Land & Environment Court as required.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience assessing development, heritage and urban design matters (local government experience highly regarded).
- Strong analytical, report‑writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- High level of organisation, attention to detail and resilience.
