A well‑established organisation within the manufacturing and technical services sector is seeking an experienced Customer Service Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing orders end‑to‑end and providing a high level of customer support in a fast‑paced, process‑driven environment.

Your new role

  • Process and manage sales orders across multiple product lines

  • Handle customer orders via phone, email and online channels with a high level of accuracy

  • Enter and maintain orders within an ERP system (SAP or similar)

  • Validate purchase orders, pricing, freight requirements and delivery dates

  • Manage returns and credits in line with internal procedures

  • Respond to price and availability enquiries from internal and external customers

  • Track and monitor order progress, resolving delays and discrepancies

  • Liaise with logistics, fulfilment and internal sales teams to ensure on‑time delivery

  • Communicate order updates clearly to customers and internal stakeholders

  • Maintain accurate records, reports and data integrity

  • Assist with reporting and identify opportunities for process improvement

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in customer service, sales support or order processing

  • Exposure to manufacturing, technical or industrial environments (essential)

  • Strong attention to detail and confidence in managing complex orders

  • Comfortable working with ERP systems (SAP experience advantageous but not essential)

  • Clear communication skills across phone and email

  • Proactive, organised and solutions‑focused
