Customer Service and Licensing Officer

A State Government Department is seeking a detail-oriented administrative and customer service professional to join a specialised team focused on licensing and regulatory compliance. This Department operates across the state and is committed to delivering high-quality public services in a dynamic and values-driven environment.

Your new role
In this role, you will work within a small team to ensure accurate assessment of documentation, maintain internal databases, and provide information to both internal and external stakeholders.You will also be responsible for:
  • Assessing and processing applications in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Responding to inbound calls from the call centre during rostered phone shifts.
  • Conducting outbound calls to customers regarding licencing and applications.
  • Reviewing internal systems to determine eligibility and take appropriate action.
  • Providing support to investigations and compliance activities through information collation.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interpret and assess written information and apply procedural guidelines.
  • Competence in using computer systems for data entry and document management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience working with legislation or regulatory frameworks is highly beneficial.
